Tantus Ripple Large

Once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away, there lived a butt plug and some anal beads. Though they lived separate lives they managed to find each other and fall in love….and get it on. The produced a beautiful love child and were happy. They named him Tantus Ripple Large.

I love Tantus silicone! It’s soft and squishy. In fact it’s so squishy the Ripple makes a good substitute for a stress ball. You can squeeze your frustrations away all the while smiling at the thought you’re squeezing a butt plug! Silicone is also phthalate and latex free, non-porous and hypoallergenic. Cleaning instructions can be found HERE. There is definitely some drag with Tantus silicone so be sure to use some lubricant. Remember, folks, silicone sex toys can only be used with water-based lubricant, so avoid silicone and oil-based lubes at all costs. They can chemically react with the Ripple’s silicone and damage it.

My Tantus Ripple is a gorgeous midnight purple. It is pretty and sparkles in the light, and it matches my Tantus Ryder. Gotta loved a matched set of Tantus anal toys! The Ripple is 5 1/4″ long with 4 3/4″ insertable. The round beads are graduated, starting at 7/8″ at the tip and increasing to 1 1/2″ at the fourth and largest bead. The largest bead is just slightly thicker than the stem, and the base is large and round and harness compatible. Though I don’t use the Tantus Ripple in a harness, I like that I have the option (who knows what the future will bring? ;)). I also love the large thickness of the base. I can rest easy knowing there’s no way way that base will get sucked up inside me.

I mentioned issues, didn’t I? Well, the one disappointment about the Tantus Ripple is that it does slip out a bit when I am super excited. This has been an issue for me lately with my newer butt plugs. So I have to wonder, is it the butt plugs or do I just have a slippery bottom??

The only downside of the Tantus Ripple is the same downside I find with all Tantus silicone. It’s a major dust magnet. As soon as I take the Ripple out of my toy chest, every dust mote in a 3 miles radius seems to come rushing over at the speed of light to attack it. However, this is easily addressed by washing it before and after use…which you’re doing already anyway, right?!

Tantus Ripple Large Pros:
• Silicone
• Sterilizable
• Great size

Tantus Ripple Large Cons:
• Slips out somewhat
• Dust magnet

The Tantus Ripple Large is the perfect love child between anal beads and butt plug. You get the wonderful pop, pop, pop and graduation of anal beads with the firmness of a butt plug. I love the way it feels inside me. The texture of the beads is great to clench down on as they caress me internally.

Fun Factory Bendy Beads

I love Fun Factory, I truly do. I love every Fun Factory product I have. Until now. 🙁 My perfect record has been marred by my slinky new Fun Factory Bendy Beads.

Fun Factory Bendy Beads are a sleek, black matte silicone that are also available in purple. They are something of a lint magnet so be sure you wash them before and after use…which I know you’re all doing anyway, right??

Of course, I love silicone. It’s my preferred material for sex toys. Fun Factory’s Bendy Beads are phthalate and latex free, hypoallergenic, odorless, tasteless, and body-safe. Silicone is super easy to clean and is even sterilizable. You can use antibacterial soap and warm water, your favorite sex toy cleaner, or a 10% bleach solution (that’s 9 parts water to 1 part bleach). You can even wash your Fun Factory Bendy Beads in the top drawer of your dishwasher (no soap please!) or boil them in water to sterilize them. Be sure to wash your Bendy Beads carefully as they have little crevices where lubricant and body fluids can congregate.

Remember, Fun Factory Bendy Beads are 100% silicone and can only be used with water-based lubricant. Silicone-based lube can bond with the silicone of the beads and cause them to melt and become tacky. Also make sure you do not allow your silicone toys to touch in storage as the same kind of chemical reaction can occur.

Fun Factory Bendy Beads are almost 10 1/2″ long, with about 7 1/2″ insertable. These anal beads look like a curvy wand that curls back on itself to form a handle with five graduated oval beads set into alternating sides of the curve. Not only does this add to the modern design of the Bendy Beads, it also adds a nice texture to them. The five oval beads slowly increase in circumference from 2 1/2″ to 4 1/2″, which is approximately 3/4″ to 1/5″ in diameter. This makes Bendy Beads on the big side for anal beads. I would definitely recommend them to intermediate and advanced users, and caution beginners to avoid them.

I’m in a bit of a quandary over Bendy Beads. On the one hand, I love how the beads feel slowly going inside me. As I push each bulb in, there is that satisfying “pop” that makes me swoon and moan. As there is a significant difference between the size of each bead and the stalk (so to speak), I can take as much time to relax and enjoy before pushing the next bead in. I am such a tease! I’m definitely an intermediate player, so while I feel each and every inch as it slides inside me, I really start to feel the stretch at the third bead. That’s when I have to slow down and breath more deeply. The fullness of the fourth and fifth beads popping in makes my eyes roll back in my head.

Here we come to the “other hand”. Inserting Bendy Beads is a bit of a challenge. Why? Well, they’re not called Bendy Beads for nothing! It’s a bit like trying to push a rubber band inside me. In order to insert them, I have to hold onto the beads themselves. The handle is really to keep them from slipping inside and for extraction. So I end up getting lube all over my hand my hand which makes it even harder to push the beads inside. Doh! I’ve been playing with these on my own as my Man has been quite busy lately. I think using Bendy Beads during partner play would make insertion much easier.

I do love the handle of my Fun Factory Bendy Beads. It’s great for pulling the Bendy Beads out (I prefer doing this slooooowly), one satisfying pop at a time, and it’s very comfy between my cheeks. I feel very secure knowing it’s not getting sucked inside. That’s the other great thing about these Bendy Beads. Once they’re in, they do not slip out.

While Bendy Beads are made for your bottom, they do a fair job front of house as well. The flexibility keeps Bendy Beads from being a good thrusting toy, but they provide me with a nice full feeling and the beads give me something to clench down on. Bendy’s great texture feels yummy sliding along my lips as well as inside me.

While I love the girth of my Fun Factory Bendy Beads, I find them almost too long for my body. It sorta feels like they’re trying to crawl up my colon. Well not quite, but they’re just too long for me to wear comfortably for any extended period of time.

Fun Factory Bendy Beads Pros:
• Silicone
• Boilable
• Great texture
• Very flexible

Fun Factory Bendy Beads Cons:
• Very flexible
• May be too long for some

I really want to love my Fun Factory Bendy Beads, but I just can’t quite do it. I like them, but I don’t love them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the beads themselves. I love the shape, the girth, the material, the look, the texture…almost everything about them. Almost… It comes down to two issues- the flexibility and the length. While I like the flexibility inside me, it makes them harder to insert, and if the Bendy Beads were an inch or two shorter they’d fit perfectly.

Tristan Butt Plug

By now, you all know how fond I am of anal play. Well, there is a butt plug I have been coveting for a quite some time now, the Tristan Butt Plug, from Babeland.

The Tristan is made by Vixen Creations, a small California-based company that makes high-end silicone products manufactured in the U.S.A. Their packaging is unique and fun. The Tristan Butt Plug comes in a small, round plastic canister with an end that pops off. Though it does take up some room, this canister is a great way to store the Tristan. It allows the Butt Plug to stand up inside and gives it plenty of elbow room so that it keeps its shape.

As the Tristan Butt Plug is made of silicone, it is important to keep it from touching other silicone toys in storage. Touching silicone can lead to a chemical reaction and cause the toys to melt. This is also why it is best to use to water-based lubricant with your silicone Tristan, rather than silicone-based lube.

The Tristan is hand-crafted from high-quality Platinum grade silicone, which is the the very best. This silicone is latex and phthalate-free, body-safe, and hypoallergenic. Silicone is non-porous so it can be easily cleaned and disnfected. You can wash your Tristan with anti-bacterial soap and water, use a toy cleaning spray or wipes, or a 10% bleach solution. As the Tristan has no motor and no moving parts it can be washed in the top drawer of your dishwasher without any soap or boiled in water for 3-5 minutes. This allows you to share the Tristan Butt Plug between partners, after sterilization, which makes it a great option for couples or those with multiple partners.

There is quite a lot of drag with this silicone and it is always important to use lubricant with anal toys for safety and pleasure. Keep your butt healthy and happy, folks! As I previously mentioned, you want to avoid silicone-based lubricant with the Tristan Butt Plug. Rumor has it that some silicone-based lubes can be used with pure high-quality silicone, but I have never seen a reason to risk it. I just prefer water-based lubes and value the life of my silicone sex toys.

The Tristan Butt Plug is named after its creator, Tristan Taormino, and comes with a special message from her. Tristan wrote a very popular book and put together a video called, “The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women”. She is quite the expert on anal sex and while I have not read the book nor seen the video, both have been highly recommended. The Tristan comes with a lifetime warranty so be sure to hold on to your receipt.

The Tristan Butt Plug is a beautiful marbled purple that is much prettier than my images can capture. It is also available in black for those of you who would prefer that. This plug is 3 1/2″ in length, with approximately 3″ insertable, and 1 1/2″ in diameter. The neck itself is just over 1″ in diameter and the base is quite large, coming in at 3″ long by 2″ wide and almost 1/2″ thick. The head has a nice shape and is meant to anchor itself in your bottom.

Thanks to the sleek silicone and tapered shape of the its head, and with a fair amount of lube, Tristan slides in easily and smoothly and feels great inside me. The silicone is firm yet giving, which makes clenching down on it very comfortable. It warms to my body quickly and feels natural in my butt. The base is comfortable against my bottom and the plug fits well under jeans but it does make walking feel a bit awkward. I had wanted this Butt Plug badly for the longest time because it has the reputation of being a stay-put plug that can be worn for long periods.

Historically, I have had issues with plugs either sliding into or out of my ass. Some slip inside my hungry bottom, but I figured Tristan would not because of the over-large base. I was right. There is no way that base will fit inside me no matter how hungry my butt gets. The other issue is the plugs that slip out while I am wearing them. With its excellent no slip reputation, I figured Tristan would be perfect for me. Well, I am sad to report that while the Tristan 1 Butt Plug is very comfortable, it does not stay inside me. During play, it manages to squeeze right out when I move around or clench my muscles. This makes me a sad girl. I had such high hopes for the Butt Plug and they have all been dashed. Dashed, I tell you!

Tristan Butt Plug Pros:
• Silicone
• Beautiful color
• Comfortable
• Does not get sucked inside

Tristan Butt Plug Cons:
• Lint magnet
• Slips out

I want to love Tristan, I really do. I had planned on it and everything. I wanted it to be my go-to Butt Plug. The color is pretty, the silicone is lovely, the shape is great, the packaging is nice. It has many good qualities, all the makings of a great butt plug. Yet is was a big let down for me. I think I need the neck to be thinner and the head to be larger. So while it kills me, I have to give Tristan a low rating simply because it did not work for me. However, based on all the good feedback about Tristan, I would say it’s worth risking. I think I just have a very particular butt.

Don Wands Glass Red Sweetheart Mushroom Tip Dildo

While I do tend to prefer pretty and cute sex toys to realistic ones, I am not usually all that into hearts as a design. However, the Don Wands Glass Red Sweetheart Mushroom Tip Dildo from FunWares is awfully cute.

At about 7 1/2″ long, with almost the entire shaft being insertable, and just over 1″ in diameter, the Don Wands Glass Red Sweetheart Mushroom Tip Dildo is larger than I expected. The mushroom tip is a bit over 1 1/2″ in diameter and the flared base is almost 2″ in diameter. It is made of clear borosilicate glass with 1″ hearts in raised glass on the shaft. The hearts are a dark blood red that stand out nicely against the clear glass. I expected the hearts to be smaller and flush to the glass, but I really like the texture of the raised glass against my skin.

Borosilicate glass is the generic form of Pyrex, the same glass used to make oven-safe baking dishes. This type of glass is also used to make high quality sex toys. Borosilicate glass is very strong and almost shatter-resistant. If borosilicate glass breaks, it is far more likely to crack and break into large pieces rather than shatter. However, it takes a serious effort to break or even crack borosilicate glass. I know some people have concerns about using glass sex toys, but no matter how hard you clench down on it, borosilicate glass will not break inside you. No need to fear! In fact, I’ve dropped this glass dildo on the floor from about four feet up and had no problems. Of course, to be safe you always want to check your glass sex toys before use to be sure there are no cracks or scratches.

Glass is an excellent material for sex toys because it is phthalate and latex free, non-porous, hypoallergenic, and totally hygienic. Have I mentioned it is super easy to clean and can be sterilized? You can use soap and warm water, your favorite sex toy cleaner, a 10% bleach solution, and even rubbing alcohol if you can’t stand the smell of bleach. You can also use any type of lubricant with glass, be it water-based, silicone or oil-based.

Another way to enjoy glass toys is sensation play. You can either heat up or cool down glass and it will retain the new temperature for a time. This can add some spice to your normal play. Place the Don Wands Glass Red Sweetheart Mushroom Tip Dildo in a bowl of ice water or hot water and allow it to slowly and safely reach the desired temperature. Never stick your glass sex toys in the freezer or in boiling water. Such abrupt temperature changes can cause them to crack. I find this dildo tends to naturally be on the cool side and that works well for me as I usually prefer cold to heated play.

The Don Wands Glass Red Sweetheart Mushroom Tip Dildo is a pleasure during play. The glass is soft and slick and feels great inside my body. I am such a fan of glass sex toys! The texture of the raised hearts is a nice change and adds to the lovely sensation of the glass. The large mushroom head adds a nice “pop” when I am stroking in and out and gives an interesting tactile difference. First, the larger, smooth head followed by the thinner, textured shaft. Lovely.

While the measurements of this dildo may seem to be on the small side, it actually feels quite a bit larger than one would expect. This is due to the unforgiving nature of glass. As there is no give at all, the Don Wands Glass Red Sweetheart Mushroom Tip Dildo feels much larger inside me than it actually looks. This lack of forgiveness must kept in mind while stroking as well. If I am not careful, the length of this dildo will allow me to bruise my cervix and in the heat of the moment I often will not notice. This issue is easily resolved simply by making sure I grip enough of the dildo in my hand to effectively shorten it.

An advantage of its flared base is that the Don Wands Glass Red Sweetheart Mushroom Tip Dildo can be used for anal play as well. Of course, it’s all about preferences but I love glass toys in my bottom and this one is no exception. Granted, it is a dildo not a plug, so it does not stay inside me without help. However, it is great for thrusting and good preparation for anal sex. As with vaginal penetration, the glass is so smooth and slick it requires less lubricant than dildos of other materials, such as silicone. Just a small amount of lubricant gets it slippery and slidey enough for it to easily slip in and out of me.

The Don Wands Glass Red Sweetheart Mushroom Tip Dildo comes in a totally non-discreet clear plastic bubble pack, so beware. Included is a small sample of Wet Silicone lubricant, a padded storage pouch, and a Don Wands Glass Care Card. It is very important to store your glass sex toys safely and a padded pouch is an excellent way to do so. I really appreciate that Don Wands includes this pouch in the packaging of their glass toys.

Don Wands Glass Red Sweetheart Mushroom Tip Dildo Pros:
• Glass
• Pretty
• Great storage bag
• Multifunction

Don Wands Glass Red Sweetheart Mushroom Tip Dildo Cons:
• Can bruise the cervix if not careful

I enjoy playing with this dildo. It is pretty and feels good in my hand as well as inside my body. The flared base for anal play is a nice bonus not available on all my dildos. I am a big fan of sensation play and the Don Wands Glass Red Sweetheart Mushroom Tip Dildo is ideal for this. Not only because it is glass, but also because of the raised hearts. I love that I do not have to spend money on a storage bag as one is included. As FunWares has great price points, this dildo is a financially friendly option as well. Other advantages to ordering from FunWares are the discreet billing and fast shipping. Most orders ship out the same day. Quite impressive!

njoy Pure Plug

As you all know, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend ANE last month. At ANE I got to meet the owner and creator of njoy, Greg Delong, an amazingly nice and interesting guy. I wish we’d had more time to talk. Over the years, I have heard oodles of great things about njoy toys and have always wanted to try them but just hadn’t had the chance. Greg was so super awesome that he gifted me an amazing njoy Pure Plug!

Let me start off start off by saying how much I adore this butt plug. It is everything I hoped it would be and more. The shape of the njoy Pure Plug just works very well for my body. It is a somewhat flattened oblong with a tip that slides into my body gently and paves the way for the rest of the plug to enter me. The bulbous part of the butt plug just after the flattened tip slides inside me like it is meant to be there. The handle is great because it keeps the njoy Pure Plug from sliding into my hungry bottom and the long, thin neck provides plenty of room for my muscles to clamp down which keeps it from sliding out.

The heaviness of the plug causes it to feel very solid when it is inside me and I feel its presence much more than some of my lighter-weight silicone plugs. I can wear my njoy Pure Plug for long periods of time in comfort and can have sex with it in without worrying that it will fall out.

Like glass, stainless steel obviously has no give so the njoy Pure Plug feels larger than silicone plugs of the same size. The Large Pure Plug is wonderful for me, but I recommend selecting a smaller size if you have less experience with anal play.

njoy Pure Plugs are hand-finished so there may be slight variations in actual size. Depending on you measure it, my Large Pure Plug is almost 4″ in length with approximately 2 3/4″ insertable. The bulb is 1 1/2″ in diameter. The neck is 1 1/2″ long and approximately 1/2″ in diameter. The Large Pure Plug weighs approximately one pound, so that is a good amount of stainless steel in your bottom.

Like glass, medical-grade stainless is an excellent material for sex toys for several reasons. It is latex and phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, and body-safe. It is also very easy to care for and clean. You can simply wash with soap and water and buff with a soft cloth, which is recommended by njoy for everyday cleaning. You can also sterilize your njoy Pure Plug by boiling it in water o submersing it in a 10% bleach solution. Be sure to sterilize when switching from anal to vaginal play or sharing between partners.

Stainless steel is very flexible when it comes to what kinds of lubricants you can use. You can use any kind of body-safe lube. I find that I need a very small amount of lube with my njoy Pure Plug. The stainless steel is just so smooth and silky a little bit of lube does the trick.

Also like glass, stainless steel is great for sensation play. It tends to be naturally cool, which I love but isn’t always popular. You can heat up your njoy Pure Plug by soaking it in warm water or cool it down by soaking it in ice water. The metal holds the temperature for quite some time before it goes to body temp.

You know how I love my packaging and njoy does a great job in the arena as well. The njoy Pure Plug comes in a beautiful black box with “njoy pure/fun” in silver on the lid. Inside the box, the butt plug sits in a fitted styrofoam form covered in hot pink satin. It is a wonderful way to to store your Pure Plug and is quite discreet as well. Unless someone knows what njoy is, they would have no idea what sort of naughty fun is hiding in the tasteful black box you have on your dresser or bedside table.

njoy Pure Plug Pros:
• Stainless steel
• Comfortable for long periods
• Easy to care for
• Great storage box
• Different sizes

njoy Pure Plug Cons:
• None

I have always admired and lusted after the beauty of njoy’s stainless steel and now that I have the Pure Plug, I must have more njoy toys. The njoy Pure Plug truly is one of the best butt plugs I have ever tried. It is now in my top two, along with my Crystal Delights Crystal Kiss Butt Plug. It is so comfortable to wear and the weight of it feels great inside me. I love the coolness of the stainless steel and how silky smooth it is. The box is classy and good for storage and the butt plug is is easy to clean, which is important to someone lazy like me. Overall, I love my njoy Pure Plug in Large and I am so grateful to Greg Delong of njoy for giving me such a lovely gift!

Pop Plug

The Pop Plug Butt Plug is made by Doc Johnson. Though Doc Johnson is a local California-based company (yay!), their products and packaging are made in China. The Pop Plug comes packaged in a flexible plastic box with colorful pink swirls on it. Inside the box, the Pop Plug sits in a plastic tray. The packaging is really not discreet as you can see the Butt Plug through the front of the box. You can certainly use this box for storage but it does take up quite a bit more room than the Pop Plug Butt Plug itself, so if space is an issue for you as it certainly is for me, you may want to pop your Pop Plug in a nice little storage bag.

This Butt Plug is made of premium silicone, which is latex and phthalate-free, as well as being hypoallergenic and body-safe. As silicone is non-porous, it is a great choice for sex toys, especially things that go up your butt. It will not collect bacteria and such and is very easy to clean and disinfect. You can go the easy route and simply use water and anti-bacterial soap, or a sex toy spray or wipe. However, if you are sharing your Pop Plug between partners or going from anal to vaginal play with it, you definitely want to sterilize it. Fortunately, that is a cinch to do. The Pop Plug is solid silicone so you can use a 10% bleach solution, wash it in the top rack of your dishwasher with no soap, or boil it in water for 3-5 minutes.

The use of lubricant is always important with anal toys and the Pop Plug is no different. However, as it is 100% silicone, you want to be sure to use a water-based lubricant with it. Though some high quality silicone sex toys can be used with some high quality silicone lubes, this is not always or even often the case. Silicone will bond with itself so if you use a silicone lube with your silicone Pop Plug, you may end up melting your Butt Plug. Therefore, to be safe I prefer to stick with a water-based lubricant when playing with my silicone sex toys.

The Pop Plug Butt Plug comes in three sizes, small, medium, and large. I ordered the large, figuring that would suit me best and it was a good choice. I find even the large to be on the small side when it comes to butt plugs, though I certainly do not need all of my plugs to be huge by any stretch (pun intended). The Large Pop Plug is approximately 4 3/4″ long, with 2 1/2″ being insertable, and 1 1/2″ in diameter. The silicone is light pink and very soft. It also does not attract lint or hair which is always a blessing when it comes to silicone. There is a seam along two sides of the Pop Plug that I feel with my fingers but I do not feel the seem when the plug is inside me.

While pink is not my favorite color for sex toys, it certainly is fitting for Pink October. We all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and pink is the color of breast cancer, right? Of course, pink is also used by other causes but this month pink is all about Breast Cancer. It is a perfect time to to buy yourself or someone a pink butt plug! I also certainly prefer pink to black or something that is close to my skin color. I like my sex toys more whimsical and colorful.

The shape of the Pop Plug allows it to slide inside my butt smoothly and easily and stay put. It fits snugly and does not slip out even with vigorous activity. This is a huge thing for me as I do tend to have issues with many of my plugs slipping out. Thanks to the little handle, it is easy to remove. I simply slip my finger through the circle, tug gently, and out slides the Pop Plug. The size is great for me, though it does feel much smaller than its 1 1/2″. This is most likely because the Pop Plug is silicone so it compresses, whereas I usually wear glass or stainless steel butt plugs which do not.

The base of the Pop Plug is so ergonomic. Yes, yes, I know most people do not necessarily think of butt plugs as ergonomic but it sits perfectly between my ass checks. It keeps the entire plug from disappearing up inside me while also keeping it from sliding out. It allows me to walk and sit comfortably, no mean feat while wearing a butt plug.

Pop Plug Pros:
• Silicone
• Not a lint magnet
• Three sizes
• Great design

Pop Plug Cons:
• No storage bag

I was actually quite surprised by how comfortable the Pop Plug is, especially to just sit around in. I’m wearing it as I write this review, and unlike some of my other plugs, sitting on top of it is no problem. The silicone is just so smooth and forgiving. I am delighted that it comes in three sizes as it should fit the bill for most anyone except size queens. I would love to see it in an extra large size, actually, but I can be a bit of a size queen when it comes to my sex toys. Never mind me though, the shape is so great and the plug so comfortable, I think the small size would be excellent for beginners. It really is a very friendly butt plug.

Nexus G-Rider

I have seen Nexus products around for a while but had not had a chance to try them out until recently when I decided to try out the Nexus G-Rider, a versatile sex toy made for both male and female play.

Nexus makes vibrating sex toys for both men and women. In fact, many of their toys can be used by anyone as they can be used either vaginally or anally and are designed to stimulate either the g-spot for women or the prostate for men. Of course, women can enjoy anal play just as much as men even without prostate. At least, I think so. I don’t actually have a prostate so I can’t really compare, but you know what I mean.

The Nexus G-Rider is billed as a g-spot massager on the package but the shape and the directions tell me it can also be used as a prostate massager. It is 5″ long, with 4″ being insertable, and 1.5″ in diameter. It has a rather curvy shape with a base that curves up kinda like elf shoes. On one side of the base are little silicone nubs. These nubs are meant to stimulate the clit or the perineum, depending on how you are using the Nexus G-Rider. The Nexus G-Rider takes one AAA battery, which is included with the vibrator. Kudos to Nexus on this. I think all battery operated vibrators ought to come with the required batteries so I’m always excited when the manufacturers include them. This battery fits into the slot in the base of the toy which is also where the power button is located. The entire toy, with the exception of the part in the base that includes the battery compartment and the power button, is covered in slick, red silicone.

I really like the silicone of the Nexus G-Rider. It is silky and smooth and does not attract lint and dust like some silicone does. Of course, it is also latex and phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, and body-safe. Oh, and it’s red. Did I mention it’s delicious redness? Well, mine is red, but the Nexus G-Rider also comes in black, pink, and purple. This silicone is very firm with no real give so it should provide good pressure against the g-spot and prostate. However, due to it being made of silicone you’ll want to use a water-based lubricant. The directions clearly state this.

The silicone also makes the Nexus G-Rider easy to care for and clean. You can use a sex toy cleaner, antibacterial soap and water, or a 10% bleach solution. Bleaching the Nexus G-Rider will allow you to share it between non-fluid bonded partners and to swap between anal and vaginal use. Of course, you can always use a condom over it as well, if you are lazy like I sometimes am. Be careful when cleaning the Nexus G-Rider because it is not waterproof.

The Nexus G-Rider has a simple one button control on the base of the vibrator and five vibration modes. I find the vibrations to be on the high-pitched, buzzier side, which is not my favorite thing. I also find them to be louder than I expected and not terribly strong. To turn the Nexus G-Rider on you push the button. You also push the button to cycle through the modes. To turn off, hold down on the button for two seconds. I have some trouble with the button on my Nexus G-Rider. It is just difficult to push. I suppose it’s good that I don’t accidentally change the setting, but I find the button really annoying to work. While I normally enjoy my vibrators with patterns, these don’t do it for me. The different vibrations modes are as follows:

1. Steady vibration
2. Buzzing on for 3 seconds, off for 2 seconds
3. Long pulses
4. Pulsing roller coaster
5. Roller coaster starts off slow and speeds up

I had this toy for a while before playing with it and I really expected to like it. Unfortunately, it’s kind of a mixed bag. For whatever reason, the shape just doesn’t work for me vaginally and I find the little nubs irritating. I don’t enjoy thrusting with it or riding it and the nubs really don’t stimulate my clit. I like the Nexus G-Rider better anally. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the shape considering I really don’t like it in my vagina, but it works well up my butt. It slides in much more easily than I expected with no need for warmup. It stays put, which is often a challenge for me, so I appreciate that. Though the base is super thick, it is comfortable to sit with the Nexus G-Rider inside me. I do like vibrations in my butt so I enjoy that, but I find the button difficult to press while the Nexus G-Rider is inside me.

One thing I really don’t like about the Nexus G-Rider is its battery cap. It does secure tightly, which is a good thing. In fact, it’s a bit difficult to get off. So much so that I worry I’ll break it if I’m not extra careful. What I don’t like is that it pops all the way off and it’s quite tiny so I feel like I’m going to lose it in the bed or down the drain. I’d prefer it be attached somehow so I don’t have this concern.

Another thing I’m not too happy with is that the Nexus G-Rider is not waterproof. I don’t think it’s even splash proof, so you’ve got to be extra careful when washing it, which is a just a big pain. Even if I don’t plan on taking my toys in the bath or shower, I prefer them to be waterproof so I can clean them without worry. I feel like I can really get them clean this way. With the Nexus G-Rider, you may be better off using a sex toy wipe or other toy cleaner rather than using soap and water. The other difficulty of cleaning the Nexus G-Rider is the little silicone nubs on the base. It is quite easy for lubricant and bodily fluids to get trapped here and a bit challenging to clean while worrying about getting water in the damn battery compartment. A small toothbrush is helpful here, but I just can’t stopped being annoyed that the Nexus G-Rider isn’t waterproof.

The Nexus G-Rider’s packaging is simple. The vibrator comes in a box with clear windows in the front and on the sides so the toys is clearly visible. It also says g-spot massager on the front and back of the box, so it really is not discreet. There is a small piece of silicone on the outside of the box that allows you to feel the softness of the toy. Inside the box, the Nexus G-Rider is cushioned in form-fitted plastic, which also holds the included battery. The box is fine for storage but takes a bit of room so I’d suggest using a toy storage bag or a ziploc to keep the silicone dust free and to keep from touching your other toys. There is a little instruction booklet included in the box that say, “Nexus G-Rider Male”, which makes me wonder if there are female instructions somewhere as well. The booklet is a simple foldout piece of paper that provides directions in four languages.

Speaking of the included directions, they are totally directed at men to use the Nexus G-Rider as a prostate massager. I think that’s great but it would also be nice if they included some instructions for women. Maybe they figure women will know what they are doing. I suppose it is somewhat self-explanatory.

Nexus G-Rider Pros:
• Silicone
• Can be used vaginally and anally
• Battery included
• Good shape for anal penetration

Nexus G-Rider Cons:
• Not waterproof
• Battery cap comes all the way off
• Doesn’t work well for my vagina
• Have trouble with the button

While there are some good things about the Nexus G-Rider, the silicone, the bright colors, it’s versatile, and it comes with a battery, it doesn’t make me happy. Though the shape works for me anally, the button is a pain and I don’t like the vibrational patterns. Then there is the battery cap and the lack of waterproofness (yes, I did just make up a word). As a butt plug it’s not bad, but it’s not great either. It just doesn’t work for me vaginally at all which takes away from it’s versatility for me. However, it may work better for someone else. Check the Nexus G-Rider out at the following stores and let me know how it works for you.

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy

I have reviewed a few sex toys from Rocks-Off, such as the Rocks-Off RO-160mm, the Rocks-Off RO-150 Slimline, and the Rocks-Off Luv Massager, but I hadn’t tried any of their butt toys. I decided to try one I’d had my eye on for quite some time, the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy.

We disagreed about whether or not the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy is a prostate massager. He insisted that it is while I said it is for all butts. Turns out we are both right, though he may be slightly more right than I am. In the Rocks-Off catalog, the Butt-Boy is listed under butt plugs but it does actually have a diagram of a man on the back of the box indicating how to use the Butt-Boy as a prostate massager. Nevertheless, I enjoy anal play even though I don’t have a prostate, so I feel I can do justice to the Butt-Boy in this review.

The Rocks-Off Butt-Boy has a slightly different shape than my other butt plugs, which is what I found so interesting about it. It has a triangular shape with a thin neck that looks like it will really lock the Butt-Boy into place. It then curves around and has three ridges meant to stimulate your perineum. This piece has an included Rocks-Off RO-80mm bullet and says Butt-Boy on it in raised letters. My Butt-Boy is made of bright red silicone, which I love, but it also comes in black. Can’t have too many red sex toys as far as I am concerned.

The silicone of the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy is very silky and does not pick up as much lint as other silicone sex toys I own. It is is super firm and has very little give to it. It does have a fair amount of drag so you MUST use lubricant with the Butt-Boy, just like with anything you stick in your butt. Always, use lube. As the Butt-Boy is made of silicone, stick with water-based lubricant. Silicone-based lubes can have a negative chemical reaction with the silicone of the butt plug causing it to become tacky. I’ve noticed there is a seam around the Butt-Boy. Though it is pronounced on the bottom of the perineum stimulator, it isn’t on the internal part of the plug so I don’t actually feel it during use.

Silicone is a particularly good choice for anal toys as it can be disinfected. I usually just wash the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy with warm water and antibacterial soap, though you can also use a sex toy cleaner. Once you remove the RO-80mm bullet you can even pop your Butt-Boy in the dishwasher on the top rack with no soap. To disinfect, simply boil the Butt-Boy for three – five minutes (after removing the bullet) or wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution. This will allow you to be certain there is nothing clinging to your butt plug, as well as allow you to share it with non-fluid bonded partners. Rest assured, silicone has such small pores that not even bacteria can be absorbed into the material, which is one of the advantages of silicone sex toys. Other advantages are that it is latex and phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, and body-safe. Some silicone anal toys can retain a slight smell after multiple uses which can usually remedied by using one of the methods of disinfection or washing your toy in the dishwasher. I have not noticed this to be an issue with the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy.

The Rocks-Off Butt-Boy is actually longer than most of my butt plugs, due to the perineum stimulator. The Butt-Boy is 7″ long in total, but only 4″ of that is insertable, basically the triangular piece up to the neck. It is 1.75″ in diameter so it is not a beginner anal toy, it is something to work up to over time. Some people may also need to use smaller anal toys to work up to the Butt-Boy within a play session.
This can be a very helpful technique when participating in anal play. The .75″ neck is thin enough to serve as a good anchor and there is enough of a difference between the the diameter of the neck and the base of the butt plug to keep it from slipping out.

As I mentioned previously, the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy includes a Rocks-Off RO-80mm Bullet. This bullet lives in the perineum piece or handle of the Butt-Boy. It is made of red and metallic-plated ABS and has a soft red push button on the bottom of the bullet that turns it on and off. The RO-80mm only has one speed so it’s quite easy to use. It requires one N 1.5v battery, which is included with the Butt-Boy. The N battery comes inside the battery compartment of the bullet with a small, round piece of paper to keep the battery from touching the contacts, thus keeping the bullet from turning on unintentionally. I suggest keeping this little paper in place when you are not using the Butt-Boy if you’re going to keep store it with the battery inside. You’re probably better off removing the battery completely, but at least this way the battery won’t drain.

The RO-80mm is approximately 3.25″ long and .75″ in diameter. I suppose you can insert it vaginally on its own but I don’t. It’s just too small for me to want to use it internally. You can certainly remove it from the Butt-Boy and use it for external clit and nipple stimulation. Do NOT use the bullet anally by itself. It could easily slip inside the anal canal and be almost impossible to remove on one’s own. Speaking of removing it, the Rocks-Off RO-80mm Bullet is surprisingly easy to slide from the Butt-Boy. Usually, I find bullets incredibly hard to remove from toys like this, but all I have to do is rock it a little and slide it right out. There are ridges and grooves on the inside of the canal where the bullet lives and I think this is what allows the bullet to be removed so easily.

The Rocks-Off Butt-Boy turned out to be… interesting, with both good and bad points. The pointy end of the triangle slides in nicely, with a ton of lube, but the base feels rather abrupt when it finally slips inside. It is not the most pleasant pop I’ve ever experienced with a butt plug. The odd shape does anchor the plug in place but the neck is so short it feels as though the Butt-Boy is slipping out even when it isn’t, which is a disturbing sensation and one I don’t like at all. I like the perineum stimulator as a handle when inserting the Butt-Boy and I really like anal vibrations. The vibrations of the RO-80mm are definitely buzzy. I do not like them on my clit, but buzzy vibrations don’t bother me anally. The RO-80mm provides relatively quiet vibrations that travel well, but they are not as powerful as I would like. I certainly can feel the vibrations but I would prefer them to have more oomph. It is easy to turn on and off due to the “handle”. The ridges on the perineum stimulator don’t do a whole lot for me, but my perineum is not the most sensitive part of my body.

Like other Rocks-Off products, the packaging for the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy Butt Plug is simple. It comes in a hinged, hard black box with silver printing on the front. While the cut out window does a great job of showcasing the butt plug, it is not at all discreet so I wouldn’t leave it laying around. There is some basic info on the back of the box, including a diagram to show how men can use the Butt-Boy. The lid of the box is hinged at the bottom so it swings open from the top. Inside the box the Butt-Boy sits in a molded plastic tray that says “Rocks-Off” all over it. Underneath the tray you’ll find a pamphlet displaying all the Rocks-Off products and some information on batteries required by different products. While this box is a fair amount bigger than the butt plug, thus taking up quite a bit of room in storage, I really like it. It is extremely sturdy and when I remove the plastic tray I have room for storing a bunch of different things. I have done this with the boxes of my Rocks-Off RO-160mm and Rocks-Off RO-150mm Slimline and it works wonderfully.

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy Butt Plug Pros:
• Shape
• Easy to turn bullet on and off
• Quiet
• Silicone

Rocks-Off Butt-Boy Butt Plug Cons:
• Shape
• Short neck
• Weak vibrations
• Single speed bullet
• Hard to find battery

Though there are some things to like about the Rocks-Off Butt-Boy, in general I find it disappointing. I am glad I finally gave in to my curiosity and tested it out, but it was not the dazzling anal experience I was expecting. I like the firmness of the silicone and appreciate how quiet the RO-80mm bullet is, but single speed bullet with its weak vibrations leaves something to be desired. It is better than no vibrations at all but still disappointing in strength. The N battery is a drag because, like all atypical batteries, I don’t have extra ones sitting around the house and they are more of a challenge to find. The shape is both a positive and negative. The point slips in nicely, but the angle of the triangle is a bit extreme which feels somewhat jarring when it slides into place. The neck is also too short, so even though the Butt-Boy does not fall out it constantly feels like it’s going to. Overall, it just is not a great butt plug for me and will not be replacing any of my favorites.

Doc Johnson Sasha Grey Glass

It’s been a while since I have reviewed an anal toy. In fact, the last time I reviewed one was in February, and that’s the only butt toy I’ve reviewed so far in 2013. I figured it was high time I get my butt in gear, so to speak, and take on a new anal toy. I decided to go with the small Doc Johnson Sasha Grey Glass Butt Plug.

I really like glass sex toys. They have so many positive attributes. This is one of the reasons I chose to try the Sasha Grey Butt Plug. It is made of borosillicate glass, also known as Pyrex. If Pyrex sounds familiar, it’s because it is the brand name of a line of glassware used for cooking. Borosillicate glass is made in such a way that it is much more difficult to break than your average water glass, which tends to shatter on impact. If you drop a sex toy made of borosillicate glass (I have) and it breaks (which has not happened to me), it will crack into large chunks rather than shatter into a million tiny pieces that you will continue to step on for the next six months, no matter how well you’ve cleaned up.

That being said, you still want to be sure to treat your Sasha Grey Glass Butt Plug with respect and store it carefully, in a way that does not allow it to slam up against other hard objects. Though I have never had a glass toy crack or chip, it is important to always check your glass toys before and after use to be sure there is no damage.

As glass is non-porous, it is a very safe material to use for toys that you stick into your body. Few people have allergic reactions to glass. It is also latex and phthalate-free, so there is no chance of absorbing nasty chemicals into the body. Cleaning is simple. You can wash your Sasha Grey Butt Plug with warm water and soap, spritz it down with a sex toy cleaner, or use a 10% bleach solution. This bleach solution will disinfect the butt plug, allowing it to be used amongst multiple partners. You can also pop the Sasha Grey Butt Plug into the dishwasher and wash it with the rest of your glassware.

Glass is also versatile when it comes to lube. You can use any kind of body-safe lube with the Sasha Grey Butt Plug, so you’re not forced to stick with a water-based lubricant. This is great because I tend to prefer using silicone-based lubricants for anal play, when possible. It’s slicker and lasts longer, so I don’t have to use as much lube.

Another great thing about glass is that it retains temperatures well, so it is very good for sensation play. You can heat up or cool down the Sasha Grey Butt Plug by placing it a bowl of ice or hot water. I would not cool the butt plug by putting it in the freezer or heat it in the microwave. Quick, drastic changes in temperature can cause the glass to crack. I prefer cooling down my glass toys but some people prefer warming them up.

The Sasha Grey Glass Butt Plug comes in three sizes, small, medium, and large. Not all stores carry all three sizes. As I was not quite feeling up to a challenge at the time of purchase, I went with the small. It is 3.5″ long, with an insertable length of 3″, and a diameter of 1.25″. A diameter of 1.25″ is on the small side. However, you can definitely find smaller butt plugs out there, and I would not recommend this to a first time butt plug purchaser. With a glass butt plug, you will feel every bit of that 1.25″ diameter. There is no give like there is with other materials, such as silicone, where a butt plug of this size can actually feel smaller.

On the other hand, if you are an experienced user of butt plugs and are looking to try a glass plug for the first time, the Sasha Grey Small Butt Plug is a good choice. In hand, it actually seems pretty tiny to me, but this is not my first plug. It’s important to point out that for whatever reason some of Doc Johnson’s images of this butt plug make the head look triangular in shape. It is not pointy at all, but rather slightly oval shaped. It also has a much longer stem between the head and the base than these images indicate. Take a close look at my images above. The base is wide enough to keep the Sasha Grey Butt Plug anchored so that it does not get sucked up into your anus accidentally. It is also small enough to be comfortable when in place. The length of the stem provides sufficient room for your anal muscles to clench down so the plug does not slip out of your body.

While I generally prefer girthier butt plugs, it is always good to have something smaller around for times when bigger is not better, and the Sasha Grey Butt Plug does a good job at serving this purpose. It provides milder stimulation than many other butt plugs I have tried. Though it may be short on stature, the size of this butt plug makes it versatile. You can use it as a warm up to a larger plug, or just wear it while you’re out running errands.

The glass of the Sasha Grey Butt Plug provides a weighty feeling inside of me that lighter materials, like silicone, do not. This is an added sensation I really enjoy. I like the shape very much, which I anticipated when I first saw it. The head is pronounced enough to help keep the plug in place, while not being so large that it’s uncomfortable when it slips inside me. I also appreciate the length of the stem because it really helps keep the butt plug solidly inside me so I do not experience slippage, which is common and incredibly annoying. The Sasha Grey Butt Plug is easy to insert, remove, and wear. What more can one really ask for in a butt plug?

The packaging of the Doc Johnson Sasha Grey Glass Butt Plug is plain but sufficient. It comes in a black cardboard box with a picture of the butt plug on the front and some basic information on the back. The image of the plug on the front, along with word “PLUG” in the top right hand corner, keeps this box from being discreet. Inside the box, the plug is firmly secured in a very large block of black foam with a thin piece of black foam covering the cutout. The upside of this foam is that you could probably throw it against the wall without damaging the butt plug. The downside is that it is very large and takes up a lot of storage space. Still, you don’t want glass sex toys knocking about unprotected in a drawer.

Sasha Grey Glass Butt Plug Pros:
• Good shape
• Long stem
• Easy to insert and remove
• Comfortable
• Glass
• Attractive
• Made in the U.S.

Sasha Grey Glass Butt Plug Cons:
• May not provide enough stimulation for some

As I mentioned, I tend to prefer larger plugs that offer more stimulation. However, for when it comes to small and mild, the Sasha Grey Glass Butt Plug is a strong contender. The shape and size make it comfortable to wear during penetration, and the long stem keeps it from slipping out so it is secure. It is easy to insert and remove, and the fact that it’s made of glass allows me to use my favorite silicone-based lube with it. I know many people don’t care where their sex toys come from, but I prefer to buy locally when possible, so I really like that it’s made in the U.S. If you’re looking for a ton of sensation, I suggest considering the Sasha Grey Butt Plug in a larger size. If you want a lot of stimulation, look for a plug with texture, as the smooth glass of this one will not provide that for you. However, if you want a good, solid, small glass butt plug to experiment with or add to your collection, the Sasha Grey Glass Butt Plug is a great choice.

Tantus Twist Butt Plug

Last month I published a Spotlight on the new Tantus Twist Butt Plug. This Spotlight followed one on the Twist’s sibling butt plugs, the Tantus Juice and the Tantus Neo. Needless to say, I have been interested in Tantus’ new butt plug releases. Thanks to the very generous people at Tantus, I have now had the opportunity to test drive the oh so curious looking Tantus Twist.

The Tantus Twist Butt Plug is one of Tantus’ three recently released anal toys, and in my opinion, the most interesting. There’s nothing wrong with the Juice and Neo, but they’re a more traditional take on butt plugs. I wanted to try the Twist because I did not have any experience with corkscrew-style butt plugs. I may as well let you know up front…I am a big fan. Still, let’s start with the basics.

Made from the same signature Tantus 100% Ultra-premium Platinum silicone as all their other sex toys, the Tantus Twist is latex and phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, and body-safe. Though you can use some very high quality silicone-based lubes with the Twist, unless you’re willing to spot test your lube, it’s best to stick with water-based lubricant.

With an insertable length of 4″ and a diameter of 1.3″, the Tantus Twist is on the small side, in my book. I am not suggesting beginners to anal play immediately run out and but one. In fact, I would not recommend the Tantus Twist as a first butt plug. The corkscrew provides too much texture for most beginners and may be too large in diameter. Consider starting with the Tantus Little Flirt before moving on to the Twist. I would actually suggest the Tantus Juice as a bridge between the Little Flirt and Twist, just to get a sense for texture. Not everyone like it up their butt.

The base of the Tantus Twist Butt Plug, an often overlooked but very important part of an anal toy, is well-shaped and small enough to rest along the opening of my anus without slipping in. In fact, it’s so comfortable that I had to keep checking it at first to make sure the butt plug had not accidentally slid inside.

This base is completely new and different compared to my other Tantus anal toys of earlier design. It is far smaller and thinner, with a 3″ long curved shape that rests pleasantly against my body. If you look at the base of the Tantus Ryder or Tantus Zing, you can see that earlier Tantus plugs had bases that were either rectangular or round, based on the particular plug. While I don’t have any real cause for complaint with those bases, now that I’ve experienced this new and improved super duper comfy base, I am not quite quite as fond of those anymore. Fortunately, Tantus has also produced the Juice and Neo Butt Plugs with the same base as the Twist, so if you don’t fancy a corkscrew up your butt you’ve got other options.

The Tantus Twist Butt Plug is oblong in shape, which allows it to slip inside with ease and remain comfortably in my body for long periods of time. It also has a 1″ neck that is about .75″ thick, which is plenty of room for my sphincter muscles to grab on to and keep the Twist in place.

In general, cleaning the Tantus Twist Butt Plug is pretty basic. As with all of Tantus’ sex toys without bullets, the Twist can be washed with a sex toy cleaner, soap and warm water, popped in the top drawer of your dishwasher (no soap), cleaned with a 10% bleach solution, or boiled for 3-5 minutes. Using the bleach solution and boiling the butt plug will disinfect it, allowing it to be shared between non-fluid bonded partners. If you have the desire to use the Tantus Twist vaginally, disinfecting after using it anally is a must. Even if you are the only person who utilizes the Twist, it’s a good idea to disinfect it every now and then, just to be get rid of any bacteria hanging about. As Tantus’ 100% Ultra-premium Platinum silicone is as close to non-porous as silicone can be, bacteria cannot penetrate the silicone and multiply. Thus, disinfection is not absolutely necessary, it’s just a precaution.

Regardless of how you clean your Tantus Twist Butt Plug, be sure to do so thoroughly. Though the ridges of the corkscrew are very wide and seemingly easy to clean, it is surprising how effortlessly fluids and such can hide out. As lazy as I claim to be when it comes to masturbation and cleaning up after myself, I am still very careful when it comes to washing my toys. Yet I have have to go back and re-clean my Tantus Twist on more than one occasion, even though it looked spotless when I did it the first time. This may be in part because I often let my toys air dry rather than drying them with a towel. I especially tend to air dry with silicone sex toys, and Tantus silicone, while fantastic in other areas, is usually a nightmarish lint magnet.

However, the silicone of the Tantus Twist Butt Plug is surprisingly not. Somehow, Tantus has managed to change the texture of its awesome Ultra-premium Platinum silicone. Rather than the typical draggy, lint magnet, the silicone of the Twist is incredibly soft and smooth. It doesn’t attract lint as soon as I glance at it. I can even wipe it down with a towel and NO lint. You may think I’m getting a little overly excited about this, but if you’re a fan of Tantus toys, you know their biggest issue across the board is trying to keep their silicone lint-free long enough to get the toy inside your body. This remarkable change in texture doesn’t stop there.

The silicone of the Tantus Twist Butt Plug is so soft and smooth it requires significantly less lubricant than my other Tantus sex toys, which is really saying something when it comes butt plugs. The smoothness of the Twist actually requires less lube than some of my Tantus dildos. That’s a significant improvement, and I love it. Is this the future of Tantus’ Ultra-premium Platinum silicone? Please, Tantus, let it be so!

The other big difference is obviously the shape of the Tantus Twist Butt Plug. This is my first experience with a corkscrew-like plug and I like it. When it comes to play, you certainly can slather the Twist with lube and shove it in your (or someone else’s) butt and then just yank it straight out when done. This possible, but aside from making your life harder, you’ll miss the whole point of the corkscrew.

Screwing the Twist in as if you were about to uncork a bottle of wine is a totally new and unique sensation for me. For one thing, the shape controls the speed of insertion, which is automatically far slower than a traditional plug. No matter how slowly you insert a round or oblong plug, you have that “pop” point where you lose control and it slides in on its own. Not a bad thing at all, just different. With the Tantus Twist, that point does not exist. You just keep twisting until it’s all the way in, which is a much slower process.

Drawing the process of insertion and removal out can provide an entirely different mood or affect of anal play. It forces you or your partner (or both of you) to truly savor every moment of the Tantus Twist sliding in and out. It’s definitely not a quickie butt plug that you pop in as you’re walking out the door to run errands. If you are prone to such behaviors… Even if you are not, a long, slow butt plug insertion can truly spice up play in a way you might not have imagined. I find it to be incredibly exciting. By the time the Twist is all the way in, I am far wetter than I usually am when popping in any old butt plug. It’s not just a different shape, it’s a different way to play.

Having said that, the Tantus Twist is definitely comfortable enough to wear while out and about for extended periods. The smallish diameter and oblong shape don’t cause any irritation to my sphincter muscles. I can even forget it’s there for a bit until I move in a certain way and I am gently reminded. I don’t notice the texture as much when the Twist is inside me, unless I am intentionally clenching down on it. I feel it much more during insertion and removal. In general, I do enjoy texture in my sex toys. If you do not or are particularly sensitive, I would recommend skipping the Twist in favor of the Tantus Neo, which has a very similar shape without any texture.

The packaging of the Tantus Twist Butt Plug is typical Tantus. It comes in a clear plastic box with the Tantus red and white accents. Inside the box the Twist is clearly visible in a plastic clam shell. As always, there is some basic information about Tantus silicone, and as always, I’m grateful I don’t need to read this info in German, French, or Spanish (though I can read both the French and Spanish) because I find the white print on its clear background challenging. I do require glasses or contact lenses though, as I am blind as a bat (without the added benefit of their echolocation, damn it!), so it may just be me. As the box is totally see through and the Twist is clearly a sex toy, it is not the most discreet way to store the butt plug nor give as a gift. The fact that Tantus has printed, “the world’s best soft toys for adults” on the front certainly does not help with discreteness. While this box is not the sturdiest thing around, it does fine for storage but it takes up an unnecessary amount of room. You’re probably better off storing the Tantus Twist in a sex toy storage bag or a ziploc. Just make sure there’s not something hard pressing down on it that could damage its shape. You also want to keep your silicone toys safe from other toys made of silicone or other malleable products that might melt all over your beautiful Tantus Twist.

Tantus Twist Butt Plug Pros:
• Unusual corkscrew texture
• Ultra-premium Platinum silicone
• Well-shaped, comfortable base
• Can be worn for prolonged periods
• Can be worn during other sexual activity
• Super smooth, non-lint magnety silicone

Tantus Twist Butt Plug Cons:
• Must clean between ridges carefully
• On the small side
• May be too textured for some

Other than the fact that the Tantus Twist Butt Plug may be overly textured and/or small for some people and that you’ve got to be extra careful when cleaning, I’m hard-pressed to find anything wrong with it. Let’s face it, we’re talking about preferences and something you need to be doing anyway, so those are pretty weak downsides. If you’d like to try a corkscrew-style butt plug, you really can’t go wrong with the Tantus Twist. The only suggestion I have for Tantus is to come out with a larger size and offer a choice, like they have done for some of their other butt plugs.
