I much prefer products with natural ingredients to those that are full of chemicals, but let’s face it, any sort of lubricant or stimulating gel is going to have chemicals. These products would have no shelf life without them. However, when I can use a product that is more natural, I will. This is where Intimate Organics’ Discover G-Spot Stimulating Gel comes in.
Intimate Organics has a line of personal pleasure products that uses more natural ingredients than your average bear. Being fond of clit stimulation gels, but never having tried a g-spot gel, I was excited to try Discover.
As this was my first experience with g-spot gel, I was very curious. I decided to lube up one of my favorite glass dildos (as yet to be reviewed), pop some Discover on the tip and rub it on up against my g-spot. After taking off the hygienic foil shield beneath the cap and squeezing out some gel, I noticed a faint medicinal smell. It is not very strong and not at all disturbing. I only smell it when I directly smell my finger or the open tube. Intimate Organics Discover G-Spot Stimulating Gel is a white opaque gel. It has sort of a milky look to it.
Discover feels hot and cold at the same time, a bit like an Icy Hot or Ben Gay product, not that I have used these products on such delicate tissue. The directions suggest using a small pea-sized amount and adding more as desired. I followed these directions but ended up adding more as some of the gel seemed to get lost on its way to my g-spot. The consistency of the gel is quite thick. It stays where you put it, which is very helpful.
The sensation lasts for quite some time, at least 20-30 minutes for me. It is a bit strange to have this tingly sensation inside me as opposed to just on my clit, but I do enjoy it immensely. It makes me more sensitive, and while I don’t think this product can guarantee results for everyone, I had a small g-spot orgasm rather quickly using it the first time. Since then, I’ve enjoyed using it if I am intentionally going to be stimulating my g-spot. It just adds a bit of zing to the experience.
Intimate Organics Packaging is colorful and tasteful. The 1 ounce tube of Discover G-Spot Stimulating Gel comes in a peach-colored small box with a naked torso on it. It has the large “Made with Certified Organic Extracts” logo on the front and information in English, Spanish, French, and German on the package. Also included in the box is the the Discover G-Spot Guide. This guide provides some basic information about the g-spot, explains how to find it, and gives examples of good sex positions that allow for hitting the g-spot.
All products are certified to have met the EU consumer safety, health, and environmental requirements. This may not mean much to those of us in the United states, but I appreciate the certification, as I understand it is more stringent than a U.S. certification. Though Intimate Organics is made in Canada, the included organic ingredients are certified by the USDA Organic Board.
Don’t let the name fool you. Intimate Organics products use plenty of chemicals. However, they also contain USDA certified organic extracts, with a focus on being healthier for your body. Discover G-Spot Stimulating Gel is free from parabens, glycerine, menthol, and DEA. It is latex condom friendly, vegan, and cruelty-free.
Parabens are commonly used preservatives that can have multiple side effects with long-term use, the most common of which is allergic reactions. DEA, or diethanolamine, another commonly used chemical in cosmetics can react over time with other ingredients in a product to form NDEA (nitrosodiethanolamine) which is absorbed through the skin and has been linked with multiple types of cancer. I have mentioned glycerine many times as a product that has been linked to increased frequency of yeast infections in women as it is a sugar. Menthol is a synthetic agent used in many stimulating gels. It can irritate and dry the sensitive mucous membranes.
Intimate Organics Discover G-Spot Stimulating Gel contains the following ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Propanediol (Natural Humectant), Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Trithenolamine, Acylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Prunus Amydalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Potassium Sorbate, Phenethyl Alcohol, PPG-2 Methyl Ether, Methylisothiazolinone, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Oil, Menthyl Lactate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Alcohol, Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Arginine-HCL, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Oil
The directions caution against pregnant women and women with STI’s using this product.
The ingredients in Intimate Organics Discover G-Spot Stimulating Cream seem relatively standard and innocuous for the most part, though some may sound scary. However, Methylisothiazolinone deserves some attention. Methylisothiazolinone, as discussed on the Environmental Working Group’s Cosmetics Database, is a known skin and immune system toxicant. Its use in cosmetics has been determined safe with some qualifications and is restricted in Canada and Japan. I am on the sensitive side and have had no issues with this product, but if you are hypersensitive, you may want to do further research before using products with Methylisothiazolinone.
Just a comment on ingredients… I can get all worked up and freaked out when I do too much research on ingredients sometimes. I remind myself to carefully assess the information and determine how much is known about a particular substance. If the ingredients appear safe, I am ok with trying the product out to see how I react. After all, there are chemicals in everything we use. As someone I met recently said, “If you want to be totally green, go get an organic cucumber.”
Intimate Organics Discover G-Spot Stimulating Gel Pros:
• Works well
• Paraben, glycerine, menthol, and DEA free

Intimate Organics Discover G-Spot Stimulating Gel Cons:

Having never used a g-spot stimulating product before, I really have nothing to which I can compare Intimate Organics Discover. However, I thoroughly enjoy using it. I like the tingly icy/hot sensation it provides and I love being more sensitive. Who doesn’t want to have easier orgasms? Overall, Discover hits the…er…spot for me!
